The government will compensate developers for the rise in prices for building materials, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told Russian media.

According to him, the situation with prices for building materials in Russia is “very difficult”. Therefore, the government made an appropriate decision, and the rise in prices “will be compensated.”

Due to the sharp rise in prices for metal products in 2020, metallurgists and builders, with the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Construction, agreed on the possibility of direct deliveries of rolled metal.

The first such agreements were concluded in the winter of 2021, RIA Novosti recalls.

And at the end of April, at a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov, it was decided that the government should look into the possibility of concluding direct contracts for the supply of metal products for large infrastructure projects.
