Dollar up 1.2% up on Moscow Exchange

The dollar exchange rate at the opening of trading on the Moscow Exchange grew by 1.2% and rose to 75.28 rubles. The euro added 1.1% and reached 82.32 rubles, according to trading data at 10:00 Moscow time, TASS reported.

During the trading session, the euro grew by 2%, at the moment reaching the mark of 83.04 rubles.

As of 10:30 Moscow time, the dollar rose to 75.64 rubles. (+ 1.7%), and the euro – up to 82.71 rubles (+ 1.6%).

The Russian currency is weakening amid falling oil prices. Thus, the cost of Brent crude oil on the ICE exchange in London with delivery in July 2020 drops by 1.4% to $26.06 per barrel, and the July futures contract WTI is trading at $ 21.29 per barrel (-4.5%).

The Mosbirzhi and RTS indices are declining at the opening of trading. So, according to the data at 10:00 Moscow time, the Mosbirzhi index fell by 1.02% and reached the level of 2623.89 points, the RTS index – by 1.24%, to 1111.28 points.

According to the data at 10:20 Moscow time, the Mosbirzhi index is losing 1.52% – up to 2610.31 points, RTS – 3.79%, up to 1082.42 points.

The cost of July Brent crude futures during trading on the ICE exchange in London is reduced by 1.25% to the closing level of the previous trading – up to $26.11 per barrel. In turn, the cost of WTI varieties loses 6.17% – up to $18.56 per barrel.
