The number of investment agreements signed at the Eastern Economic Forum in 2021 increased by 200 billion rubles compared to the previous event in 2019, and reached a new record – 3.6 trillion rubles, according to the forum, which traditionally takes place in Vladivostok, Russian media reported.
Last year, the forum was not held due to the pandemic, and in 2019, agreements worth 3.4 trillion rubles were signed at the WEF sites. These are investments in the Far East, the creation of industries and jobs in Russian regions.
This year, agreements were signed with companies from China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Austria, Canada, Serbia – about 20 agreements worth billions of dollars. The largest number of agreements was signed with companies from China, Japan, and Kazakhstan.
The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) was held last week, from September 2 until September 4, at the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
