Government to Develop Measures for Reduced Cost of Vegetables

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko instructed ministries and departments to submit to the government proposals to reduce the cost of carriage of vegetables by September 27, according to the list of instructions on the government’s website.

In addition, ministries and departments should help increase the supply of “borsch set” products from the CIS countries during a seasonal shortage, or in case of crop failure.

The inflated cost of vegetables from the “borscht set” this summer was discussed not only among housewives but also among officials.

The numbers were breaking records, the cost of carrots reached 160 rubles. The President of the Russian Federation instructed to solve the problem, and by the end of the summer, prices fell.
