The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) has proposed introducing food aid to the poor. Such a measure will help reduce the impact of price increases on socially significant goods, Izvestia reported.
The proposal was developed on behalf of the head of government Mikhail Mishustin, who ordered the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Economic Development to prepare measures to stabilize food prices.
The Ministry of Economic Development also proposed to establish links between trade networks and farmers, support agricultural producers, develop weekend fairs and take other measures.
The list of proposals will reach the government by November 1. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, annual inflation accelerated by October 25 to 7.97%.
