Sheremetyevo Introduces Centralized System for Refueling Aircraft

Sheremetyevo International Airport introduced the third independent refueling complex (TZK) of JSC AERO-Sheremetyevo, a centralized aircraft refueling system.

The CZS system was put into commercial operation, and six new hydrant dispensers were purchased for refueling aircraft (AC) from hydrant system CZS the airport’s press service said.

The central gas station system on the apron of Terminal C of the Sheremetyevo North Terminal Complex was built following the implementation plan of the project “Feeder pipelines and hydrant system of Terminal C“ Stage No.1 and includes 28 hydrant dispensers, which provide the ability to refuel all types of aircraft for 19 aircraft parking places.

At the same time, in the aggregate, the Central Gas Station System of the AERO-Sheremetyevo Refueling Complex, taking into account the first stage of construction, has 77 hydrant dispensers, which provide the ability to refuel all types of aircraft at 46 aircraft parking places on the aprons of Terminals B and C.

The central gas station system is equipped with modern systems of emergency protection and automation, control, and detection of leaks, control of gas content in technological chambers, electrochemical protection against corrosion.

The centralized control system fully complies with Russian and international safety requirements. In October 2021, JSC AERO-Sheremetyevo conducted an audit of PJSC Aeroflot as part of a mandatory check for compliance with international standards and rules of the IATA Fuel Quality Pool.

The result of the check was the highest mark – the status of GREEN refueling complex of JSC AERO-Sheremetyevo in the IFQP system on the official IATA online resource.

The six hydrant dispensers put into operation have reduced landing gear and superstructure height, which allows them to be placed directly under the wing of the aircraft during refueling to save space in the aircraft service area, thereby optimizing flight service time on the ground.

Sheremetyevo Airport is the only airport in Russia with three independent refueling complexes, which made it possible to create favorable conditions for the further development of a competitive environment in the local aviation fuel market.

The existing refueling infrastructure of Sheremetyevo Airport is guaranteed to supply high-quality fuel to the airline on the best market conditions, providing air carriers with efficient basing, operational and economic activities, regularity, and safety of flights.
