Moscow Exchange to Launch New Futures Trading

The Moscow Exchange is going to launch trading in new futures by the end of the year or in the first quarter of next year, Russian media reported.

In particular, futures on the Moscow real estate index, which the exchange calculates together with DomClick, will be admitted to trading, said Maria Patrikeyeva, head of the derivatives market sales department of the Moscow Exchange, at a conference held by VTB My Investments.

“We intend to expand our range of instruments by entering the Asian market. We are working on futures for the Asian index. We plan to launch it, perhaps in the IV quarter of this year or the I quarter of the next,” Patrikeyeva, said, referring to the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index.

In addition, the Moscow Exchange intends to launch trading in futures for currency pairs with the euro, the Japanese yen, the pound sterling, and the Canadian dollar, as well as futures for industry indices.
