Russia Lifts Restrictions on Return of Foreign Athletes and Coaches

The Government of Russia has lifted the restrictions on the return of foreign athletes and coaches to the country, Kommersant reports.

“Foreign athletes and members of the coaching staff will be able to return to Russia in the near future,” the Government says.

Those who have a valid labor contract with a Russian sports organization will be able to return. After arrival, you must go through a two-week quarantine under the supervision of doctors. This measure should help professional sports organizations return to training after the removal of restrictive measures.

Due to the pandemic, Russia stopped air traffic with other countries on March 27. Only flights for the return of Russians from abroad are allowed. According to official figures, in the Russian Federation about 272 thousand people became infected with the coronavirus, 2,608 of them died.
