Russia, Turkey May Sign New S-400 Deal Again

According to the Interfax news agency, the director of Russia’s Rosoboronexport weapons distributor said on Monday that Russia and Turkey are close to finalizing a new contract to provide Ankara with additional S-400 air defense systems in the near future, Reuters reports.

Turkey’s initial acquisition of S-400 missile systems from Russia strained relations with the U.S. and NATO partners. Ankara has been sanctioned by the U.S., which has warned to retaliate if it purchases further significant military systems from Moscow.
