COVID-19 Situation in Russia Still Tense

Following Health Minister Mikhail Murashko’s video conference meeting with regional authorities on Friday, the Health Ministry issued a statement saying that the coronavirus situation in Russia remained tense.

According to the Ministry, Murashko noted that the situation with the coronavirus remained tense. However, it is proposed that the country’s regions review the situation on a weekly basis at the local level and make decisions on restriction steps.

Since the start of the pandemic, over 165 million coronavirus infections have been recorded worldwide, with over 3.4 million deaths. Russia has so far reported 4,974,908 coronavirus outbreaks, 4,591,770 recoveries, and 117,361 deaths, according to the federal anti-coronavirus crisis center. To keep the public informed about the coronavirus outbreak, the Russian government established an Internet hotline.
