24 Russians among 500 Richest People in the World

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, twenty-four Russians are among the top 500 wealthiest people in the world.

Alexei Mardashov, the owner of Severstal steelmaker, has gained $6.14 billion to his wealth since the start of the 2021 fiscal year, bringing his total worth to $29.2 billion. Leonid Mikhelson, CEO of Russian gas company Novatek, earned $5.82 billion and increased his wealth to $30.6 billion. Vladimir Lisin, the owner of NLMK steelmaker, increased his fortune by $5.48 billion to $29.3 billion.

Board member of Novatek and the Russian petrochemical giant Sibur Gennady Timchenko (+ $4.52 bln), President of the oil producer Lukoil Vagit Alekperov (+ $4.01 bln), President of the Russian mining and metals company Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin (+ $3.36 bln), and major shareholder of USM Holdings Alisher Usmanov (+ $3.11 bln) are also included.
