Iran Invites Neighboring Countries to Naval Exercises with Russia and China

Iran’s leadership has invited neighboring countries to participate in the following joint naval exercises of the republic, Russia and China, said the commander of the Iranian Navy, Hossein Hanshind, Mehr reports.

According to him, all maritime countries of the West Asian and South Asian regions should work collectively to ensure maritime security. Noting the level of development of relations and cooperation between Iran, Russia, and China, Khanzadi said that the holding of such military exercises aimed at ensuring security in the region indicates fruitful cooperation between countries in other areas – politics, economy, and other segments.

The joint maneuvers of the naval forces of Iran, Russia and China under the name “Marine Safety Belt” were launched in the northern Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman on December 27. The end of the exercises is scheduled for December 30.
