Labor Ministry Announces Maternity Capital Plans

The size of maternity capital in 2022 will be revised taking into account actual inflation, head of the Ministry of Labor of Russia Anton Kotyakov told reporters on the sidelines of the Eurasian Women’s Forum.

Starting from 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested switching to indexation of mother capital not according to forecast, but according to actual inflation at a meeting with deputies of the VIII convocation of the State Duma on October 12.

“We are always attentive to those who need the support of the state,” the president said at the time. He also drew the attention of the State Duma and government deputies to the sufficiency of funds in the budget for the implementation of these goals.

According to Kotyakov, the size of the maternity capital following the instructions of the president will be revised, while adjusting the article in the law on the budget for the future requires a change in the basic law on maternity capital, Russian media reported.

According to Kotyakov, on Monday, October 18, a meeting will take place with the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy. It is planned to discuss with the deputies the schedule for the formation of a draft law on amending the law on capital capital, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the Ministry of Labor hopes that this work can be done as soon as possible. The Ministry of Labor will have data on actual inflation in the last days of December, Kotyakov specified.
