More Than 300 Economic and Investment Agreements Could Be Signed at SPIEF 2021

SPIEF 2020

More than 320 agreements are being prepared for signing at the annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which starts on Wednesday, Russian media informed.

“As of today, more than 320 agreements are being prepared for signing at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum,” Alexander Stuglev, director of the Roscongress Foundation, told the Russia 24 TV channel.

As in previous years, these are economic and investment agreements between federal authorities and regions, Russian and foreign companies.

Last year, the forum was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the SPIEF 2019, 650 agreements were signed for a record amount of 3.1 trillion rubles.

SPIEF remains the largest event on the Russian economic agenda. The main event will be the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech at the plenary session – for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Putin will be personally present for an event of this magnitude.
