Registered unemployment rate in Moscow fell to 0.55%, which was the lowest level since April 2020, said Vladimir Yefimov, deputy mayor of the capital for economic policy and property and land relations.
The unemployment rate in Moscow has been declining since the beginning of the year. “During this period, 59 thousand people were employed, and the number of unemployed now is no more than 39.9 thousand people,” Yefimov said.
The number of employees who work part-time or are on leave without pay has decreased since the beginning of the year by 10% to 97.6 thousand people, Russian media write.
The number of vacancies has increased by 79% since January, while the number of resumes has decreased by 12%.
“In July, the level of tension in the skilled labor market (the ratio of the number of resumes to the number of vacancies) decreased by 32% compared to July 2019 and by 51% by July 2020,” said Kirill Purtov, head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.
As for the employment rates from April 2020 to July 2021, the majority of employees in Moscow are hired in the areas of software development, healthcare, trade and construction.
