Yandex.taxi to Raise Tariffs in Some Regions

Yandex.Taxi is changing the commission and will change the tariff structure from August 25 due to rising costs, Russian media reported.

“In some cities we are increasing the commission and changing the tariff structure,” a company representative said.

For example, there will be no changes in Moscow. This is necessary to increase investment “in the quality and availability of service, in travel safety.”

According to the company, the changes “will also help carriers offset rising costs such as car maintenance and fuel.”

Yandex predicts that the total gross travel cost of the online taxi service, excluding the logistics service, will grow by about 60% during 2021 compared to 2020. Last year, the income of drivers in Yandex.Taxi grew by 15% to 300 billion rubles.

For example, tariff changes are planned in about all 100 cities of the near and far Moscow region. Among them are Lobnya, Shchelkovo, Domodedovo, Podolsk, Zelenograd, Golitsyno, Ramenskoye, Monino, Fryazino, Pushkino, Nakhabino, Troitsk, Lytkarino, Istra, Klin, Dubna, Elektrostal, Dubna, Kolomna, Dmitrov, Serpukhov, Sergiev Posad, Ruza, Zvenigorod, Mozhaisk, and Volokolamsk.
