Nationwide Sports Channel “Match TV” Creates Its Own Media Agency

Russian federal sports channel “Match TV” is currently actively working on the creation of the own media agency, according to the Metaratings.ru information.

A new company was registered in the middle of May by the name of OOO ”Match Plus”, with the main form of activity expressed in data processing, the provision of the information placement services and all the related activities. The following are indicated as additional: the ventures of news agencies and the performance of the websites.

“Match TV” is specified as the only founder of the freshly created company. For the position of general director of “Match Plus” an experienced specialist has been appointed, Kliment Kolosov, who was previously deputy general director of other popular Russian TV channels, Muz-TV and 7TV. The plan is that the organization start its work in May 2021.

Alexander Zharov, a “Gazprom-Media” CEO, earlier spoke about plans to create a media agency.

“Match TV” is a nationwide channel, started broadcasting on the 1st of November, 2015th at the suggestion of the chairman of the board of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller and in accordance with the presidential decree. It uses the frequencies of the closed channel “Rossia-2”, which previously covered sports news in the country at the level of a federal channel.

The net profit of the channel in 2019 was 932 mln roubles, which is 41,3% lower than a year before when they made 1,588 bln roubles. “Match TV” is also in 3rd place on the list of most quoted sports media of 2020.
