How a Cluster for Innovators is Helping Moscow’s Economy

The Moscow Innovation Cluster (MIC) has brought together the city’s start-ups, industrial enterprises and technology companies, as well as development institutes, research and educational organizations. It first appeared two years ago as a platform to help innovators create tech products and services and find partners for new projects.

The main tool available to MIC members and partners is i.moscow, which offers access to services that facilitate business development and help in the search for clients and investors.

The portal has 19,500 registered organizations based in Moscow and 78 other regions of Russia, most of them small and medium-sized businesses. It offers a multitude of opportunities to cluster members. For example, with the help of special online services, they can quickly resolve a range of practical problems, such as finding suitable rental premises or sites for product testing, and attracting business partners and investors. In total, there are already 17 such services, which have been used by entrepreneurs more than two million times in a year.

The i.moscow portal is an additional tool for interaction between entrepreneurs and the city. It helps in solving organizational issues, promoting products and technologies, and obtaining government support. The platform’s functionality has recently been significantly extended, new services have been introduced, and the interface has been improved.

Demand for i.moscow services has grown. The platform has recently become accessible to private individuals, so now everyone who wants to develop high tech products can use it.
