Putin Gives Instructions for the Development of the Far East

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave instructions for the development of the Far Eastern Federal District (DFO), the Kremlin website reports.

In particular, the government will consider the issue of payment of one million rubles to families living in the Far Eastern Federal District, in which a third and subsequent child is born.

By November 1, the government will submit proposals on the allocation of additional money to subsidize preferential air travel from the Far East.

In addition, the government and Gazprom were instructed to study the issue of launching production of aviation kerosene, gasoline, and diesel fuel on Sakhalin.

The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance have been instructed to develop the Sakhalin seaport of Korsakov.

By August 1, 2022, it is necessary to adopt legislative amendments that introduce a preferential regime for doing business in the Kuril Islands.

The government has been instructed to assist in the construction of methanol plants in Nakhodka and Skovordino.
