Siluanov: Economic Crisis in Russia Hasn’t Finished Yet

The economic crisis in Russia caused by the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t yet fully ended, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24”.

The head of the Ministry of Finance said that at present it is impossible to say that the crisis is completely over since the issue of the pandemic and the crisis phenomena have not yet been removed from the agenda, Russian media reported.

According to Siluanov, the previously adopted support measures will be partially preserved for the next three years. When planning the budget for a given period, the Ministry of Finance tries to take into account the risks and reduce their possible consequences.

The department is trying to take into account all the priority social obligations and provide them with resources, which has been done. All obligations will be financed in full, despite any changes both outside and inside the economy, Siluanov said.

The minister said that the budget plan for 2022 – 2024 also provides for spending on incentive support measures that will enable Russia to get rid of carbon dependence.

All tasks, said Siluanov, which the President of the Russian Federation defined as national goals and instruments: national projects, strategic initiatives are fully funded in the new budget.
