A school shooting in Kazan, Russia, has left 11 people dead, most of them students, as reported by The Moscow Times citing RIA Novosti.

One of the victims in the shooting was a teacher and the other eight were students at Kazan’s School No. 175, TASS reported.

Telegram news channels posted a video which shows children jumping out of the school’s windows after hearing gunfire sounds. Two of the students died following the jump from a third-floor window, RIA Novosti reported.

At least one of the shooters was detained by police. Media outlets in Russia have identified the shooter as a graduate from the same school, Ilnaz Galyaviyev, 19, and reported that he announced his plans to commit the shooting on social media.

The regional Interior Ministry has denied that there were any accomplices after initial reports said that officers had killed a second shooter.
