Lavrov: Russia and Belarus’ Integration Documents Create the Basis for a Single Economy

The main task of the documents on the integration of the Russian Federation and Belarus is to create the basis for the formation of a single economy of the Union State, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said during the forum of modern journalism “All Russia – 2021” on Friday.

Lavrov said that these documents strengthen the positions of the economies of Russia and Belarus, and also create the foundations for the formation of a full-fledged economy of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Lavrov also said that the heads of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, during a press conference on Thursday following the signing of 28 union programs, said that currently there are no issues on the agenda of introducing a single currency, as well as creating a Union parliament.

However, these notions can be discussed later, Lavrov noted.

Earlier it was reported that the day before, following the meeting of Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko in the Kremlin, 28 programs of Russia and Belarus were coordinated.
