Russia Reports over 16,400 Daily COVID-19 Cases

Russia confirmed 16,474 coronavirus cases in the past day and the total case tally hit 3,901,204, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday, TASS writes. The average growth rate reached 0.42%.

The lowest growth rates were registered in the past day in the Tuva Republic (0.03%), the Altai Republic, the Pskov Region (0.1%), the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Magadan Region, the Chechen Republic and Khakassia (0.2%).

Moscow registered 1,545 new coronavirus cases over the past day. Some 1,916 cases were confirmed in St. Petersburg, 477 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 369 in the Voronezh Region, 366 in the Rostov Region and 334 in the Sverdlovsk Region. Currently, 461,153 people are undergoing treatment in Russia.

Russia’s coronavirus recoveries grew by 24,822 in the past 24 hours. A total of 3,365,367 have recovered by now, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center.

Recoveries have exceeded new cases for nine days now.

According to the crisis center, recoveries have risen to 86.3% of the total number of infected individuals.

In particular, another 3,627 patients were discharged in St. Petersburg in the past 24 hours, 491 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 419 in the Rostov Region, 406 in the Chelyabinsk Region and 364 in the Smolensk Region.
