AvtoVAZ, the largest automaker in Russia, updated its forecast on the growth of the new passenger car market in the country by 6.3% to 1.7 million vehicles in 2021, the company’s vice president for external relations Sergei Gromak told Russian media.
The Automobile Manufacturers’ Committee of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) expects less growth. Sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia will grow by 2.1% to 1.6 million vehicles, the association said.
Sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia in April increased 3.9 times compared to April last year – up to 151.96 thousand cars, in January-April 2021 – by 24.3%, up to 515, 9 thousand cars, a report by the Association of European Businesses (AEB) showed.
