Evalar Limits Production Due to Coronavirus Cases in the Company

The pharmaceutical company Evalar, which produced ten coronaviruses in Biysk in the Altai Territory, halted all production except the release of antiseptics, antiviral drugs, and vitamins, TASS reported.

According to TASS in the Altai Territory Administration for Food, Processing, Pharmaceutical Industry, and Biotechnology, ten people were detected at the Evalara enterprise. The company continues to work, and those in contact with the infected were sent to self-isolation according to the order of Rospotrebnadzor.

“In order to reduce contacts within the enterprise, a significant part of the employees of the production departments was sent on paid holidays from May 1 to May 18, only the workshops for the production of antiseptics, antiviral drugs and vitamins work. For employees, the entrance medical control has been tightened using spot testing on COVID- 19,” the statement said with reference to the executive director of CJSC Evalar, Vladimir Khlunov.

It is reported that a week ago, one of the company’s employees was tested for coronavirus after receiving a positive test by her husband. The woman confirmed the asymptomatic form of coronavirus. After that, tests were conducted at the company’s employees who contacted her. Ten people had an asymptomatic form of coronavirus, they were sent to quarantine.

According to the regulatory documents of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ZAO “Evalar” refers to life support enterprises, which must guarantee uninterrupted production. To date, 498 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Altai Krai, including 47 over the past 24 hours. In Biysk, where the Evalar production facilities are located, a total of 43 cases have been identified.
