Russia Confirms over 12,700 Daily COVID-19 Cases

Russia recorded 12,742 COVID-19 cases in the past day and the total caseload hit 4,164,726, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.3%, TASS reports.

The lowest growth rates in the past day were registered in the Tuva Republic (0.04%), the Jewish Autonomous Region (0.09%), the Magadan Region (0.09%), the Chechen Republic (0.11%) and the Adygea Republic (0.11%).

Moscow recorded 1,612 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours. Some 996 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in St. Petersburg, 735 in the Moscow Region, 411 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 329 in the Voronezh Region, 316 in the Rostov Region and 287 in the Samara Region. Currently, 367,988 people are undergoing treatment in Russia.

Recoveries

Some 16,012 coronavirus patients recovered in Russia in the past day and the total number of recoveries reached 3,713,445.

The share of recoveries rose to 89.2% of all those infected.

Moscow and St. Petersburg confirmed 1,807 and 2,350 daily recoveries, respectively.

Over the past day 601 people were discharged in the Moscow Region, 491 in the Penza Region, 438 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 348 in the Voronezh Region and 344 in the Vologda Region.

Fatalities

Russia confirmed 417 COVID-19 deaths in the past day versus 480 a day earlier, and the total death toll hit 83,293.

The average mortality rate hit 2%, according to the crisis center.

Moscow confirmed 52 COVID-19 deaths, while St. Petersburg recorded 49 deaths in the past 24 hours. Over the past day some 29 COVID-19 deaths were registered in the Moscow Region, 20 in the Rostov Region, 18 in the Arkhangelsk Region and the Perm Region and 17 in the Krasnodar Region.
