The number of employees of medium and large enterprises in the Russian Federation who receive a salary of 1 million rubles or more increased in 2021 compared to the pre-pandemic period by 51.5%, to 17.1 thousand people, the analytical service of the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza reported.

Most of the “millionaires” live in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Moscow Region, as well as in the Sverdlovsk Region, Sakhalin Region, Krasnodar Territory, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Tatarstan.
Most of the employees, mainly managers, with millions of salaries, work in financial and insurance companies (about 2.9 thousand people), in trade (2.6 thousand people), IT.
There are many millionaires among highly qualified lawyers, analysts, engineers (2.5 thousand people), in the manufacturing industry (2.4 thousand people), in the field of information and communications (telecommunications, media, content creation, 1.4 thousand people), sports and entertainment companies (about 1 thousand people), mining companies (0.85 thousand people) and construction (0.7 thousand people).
