The Okhtyrka heroic town in Sumy Oblast has served as a haven for IDPs, according to a convoy of humanitarian aid supplied by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, according to a press release from SCM.
Tetiana Kovalenko, Head of Social Protection Department in Okhtyrka Town Council, said that with the help of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, they have provided support to primarily vulnerable categories of internally displaced persons – the elderly people, people that have disabilities, large families, and all those people who lost their homes in the Russian shelling.
She claims that as of right now, Okhtyrka is home to 1,333 IDPs from the fighting zones of Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts.
