From 2022, Russians won’t receive a pension below the regional level, and if the accrued pension is lower, then the pensioner will receive an additional payment, Russian media writes.

According to the professor of the Department of Finance and Prices of PRUE, Plekhanova Yulia Finogenova, from next year it will not be necessary to personally apply for a pension in the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation.

All documents will already be at the disposal of the Pension Fund, and the application can be submitted through the portal “Gosuslugi”.

Russians will also be relieved of the need to annually confirm the fact of living in rural areas. This was necessary to receive a 25 percent supplement to the fixed pension payment.

Unemployed people will automatically receive a pension if they have two years left before the onset of retirement age, Finogenova added.
