Miller Says Russia Able to Complete Nord Stream 2 Alone

The Nord Stream2 gas pipeline will be completed by Russia on its own, as there are no technological obstacles to overcome which would require outside assistance.

This was announced by the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the TV channel Russia-1.

The head of Gazprom said that at present the technological risks are “solved by our capacities,” so the pipeline will be completed. At the same time, Miller added, this requires a little more time, but Russia does not have technological obstacles.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said following talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel that he had no doubt about Russia’s ability to complete the Nord Stream 2 project on its own.

At the same time, he noted that Russia highly appreciates the position of Germany in support of the Nord Stream 2 project.
