Nord Stream 2 AG, the project operator of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, has filed a request to the German federal navigation and hydrographic authority (BSH) for the immediate entry into force of the earlier issued permit to construct the gas pipeline in German waters, NDR radio station reports, TASS writes.
A regulator’s spokesperson confirmed receipt of the request and noted that “it is under review.” No information has been provided so far regarding the time when the authority will decide upon the request.
Nord Stream 2 AG thus responded to the complaint regarding continuation of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction in German waters from German environmental organizations. Entry into force of BSH decision has been suspended in view of the complaint.
On January 15, BSH issued the permit to construct the gas pipeline in German waters until the end of May. The case in point is the pipelay in the German exclusive economic zone with the length of 16.5 km.
