Analysts have seen a significant improvement in Moscow’s COVID status since the second half of June, allowing the existing limitations to be eased, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in a blog post on Friday.

According to Sobyanin, immunization has reduced the number of new cases, TASS reports.

According to him, the number of new diagnosed coronavirus patients has fallen by 2.2 times as a result of mass immunization and other preventative efforts, while the number of hospitalized patients has declined by 1.6 times since the spike in the later part of June.

In terms of the case number, the capital ranks first among Russian regions. So far, 1,499,131 COVID-19 instances have been confirmed in Moscow, with 3,356 of them occurring in the last 24 hours. At least 1,351,297 individuals have recovered thus far, while 25,477 have lost their lives due to the novel virus.
