Russia Registers New 16,627 Daily COVID Cases

Russia’s coronavirus cases rose by 16,627 to 3,951,233 in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Saturday, TASS reports.

According to data from the crisis center, the coronavirus growth rate is 0.42%.

The rate is the lowest in the Tuva region (0.1%), the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous region, the Jewish autonomous region, the Magadan region, Ingushetia and Khakassia (0.2%).

In particular, 955 coronavirus cases were recorded in the Moscow region in the past day, 472 in the Nizhny Novgorod, 369 in the Voronezh region, 361 in the Rostov region and 323 in the Sverdlovsk region.

There are currently 438,678 active coronavirus cases in Russia.

Recoveries and deaths

The number of coronavirus recoveries in Russia rose by 22,831 to 3,436,326 in the past 24 hours. The daily number of recoveries exceeded new cases for the twelfth day in a row.

According to data from the crisis center, 87% of coronavirus patients have recovered in Russia.

In particular, 1,012 recoveries were recorded in the Moscow region in the past day, 863 in the Chelyabinsk region, 437 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 427 in the Rostov region and 418 in the Irkutsk region.

Russia recorded 497 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, down from 527 the day before. The coronavirus death toll has reached 76,229. According to data from the crisis center, 1.93% of coronavirus patients have died in Russia.

In particular, 31 fatalities were recorded in the Moscow region in the past day, 28 in the Rostov region, 24 in the Krasnoyarsk region and 17 in the Krasnodar region.
