Israeli metal and ceramic 3D printing company XJet has announced that Russian company AB Universal has signed on as its latest distribution partner, TCT Magazine reported.
The distribution agreement, penned at the Formnext trade fair last month, will see AB Universal market and sell XJet’s Carmel AM systems in Russia.
Within Russia, AB Universal is a recognized distributor of 3D printing and AM solutions. It is worth mentioning that the company was already familiar with XJet’s AM capabilities before signing on as a distributor, as it installed the Israeli company’s Carmel 1400 system at its demo center in Moscow.
Based on XJet’s NanoParticle Jetting (NPJ) technology, the Carmel 1400 was introduced just over a year ago, and has gained significant attention from the industry. With its technology, XJet has tapped into a gap in the market—namely the printing of technical ceramics—and has experienced notable growth over the past year, deploying Carmel 1400 units and expanding its business operations, the company said.
“As soon as we witnessed XJet technology we could see its huge potential and wanted to be an early adopter,” said Andrei Boyarintsev, Managing Director at AB Universal. “There’s no other technology capable of producing such finely detailed ceramic parts and we know there’s demand for this material in the medical sector as well as in aerospace, automotive and education. The appointment of AB Universal as an XJet distributor follows the announcement of the company’s first channel partner, UK-based Carfulan Group, in September. While AB Universal will serve the Russian market, Carfulan Group distributes XJet systems in the UK and Ireland. This week, Carfulan will be demonstrating XJet’s NanoParticle Jetting technology for the first time in the UK at an Open House in Derby.
