Since March 23, Russia has introduced new time restrictions on flights to countries where cases of new coronavirus infection have been identified, Rosaviyatsiya informs as cited by TASS.
As reported, flights to Turkey will be limited (only flights to Istanbul are allowed), Japan (only to Tokyo), Vietnam (only to Hanoi) and Thailand (Bangkok). As before, Russian airlines received the right to charter regular flights to return travelers home.
“In addition to the previously introduced temporary restrictions on passenger air transportation from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of individual states (and vice versa), from 00:00 Moscow time on March 23, a temporary restriction is introduced on the implementation of passenger air transportation from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of foreign states, in which according to the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare as of March 19, cases of a new coronavirus infection were detected,” the telegram says.
As the representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency explained to TASS, from March 23, Russian airlines will be able to carry out charter flights to Turkey until the complete removal of Russian citizens.
“From 00:00 on March 23 regular flights between Moscow and Istanbul are preserved, charter flights are subject to the transportation of citizens of the Russian Federation (until they are completely exported),” he said.
