Eight Regions to Receive 5.9 Billion Rubles for Accelerated Resettlement of Emergency Housing

Eight regions will receive 5.9 billion rubles for the early completion of the resettlement program for emergency housing, recognized as such by the beginning of 2017, according to the Fund for Assistance to Housing and Utilities Reform.

The list includes Bashkiria, Karelia, North Ossetia, Tatarstan, Khabarovsk Territory, Kemerovo, and Novosibirsk regions.

In general, the government will allocate more than 13 billion rubles to the accelerated relocation of citizens from hazardous housing.

The Ministry of Construction clarified that the allocated money will help relocate 26 thousand people from 417 thousand square meters of emergency housing, as applications were received from 23 regions.

“The decision will allow these entities to relocate citizens from houses deemed unfit for habitation to comfortable and safe housing two years earlier.” the Fund told TASS.

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to launch a new program for resettlement of housing recognized as hazardous by January 1, 2021. We are talking about 11 million square meters of housing, 45 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes.
