The introduction of new legislative standards for the regulation of labor in remote work requires discussion and elaboration with trade unions and employers, as announced on Friday by TASS, citing the Ministry of Labor.
“With the spread of such forms of employment as remote work, more precise legislative regulation of labor organization issues is required. Moreover, the introduction of new legislative standards requires careful discussion and elaboration with trade unions and employers. And this issue has already been raised by the Ministry of Labor, including a tripartite meeting with social partners – trade unions and employers,” the Ministry of Labor said.
The department emphasized that today the organization of the working day, the provision of technical means necessary for the implementation of labor activities, and other issues related to the remote work schedule are being resolved at the employee and employer level.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Labor, Anton Kotyakov, said that the rights of those who work remotely are protected by the state. He noted that the wages of employees should not be reduced if their labor duties for the period of non-working days have not changed.
According to him, about 10% of Russians are already working in a remote format, and in this regard, it is important to prepare the right regulatory framework governing the relationship between employer and employee in the context of telecommuting.
