Chancellor Angela Merkel and U.S. President Donald Trump struck a firm agreement on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline during Merkel’s visit to the U.S., but the specifics are still undisclosed to the Kremlin, according to Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as reported by TASS.

The Wall Street Journal earlier claimed, citing sources, that the US and Germany might announce a Nord Stream 2 agreement as early as July 21.

The American government, according to the publication, will abandon its opposition to the gas pipeline proposal. Simultaneously, Germany will pledge to assist Ukraine with energy projects and diplomacy.
