Nord Stream 2 to Comply with All Permit Conditions and Technical Standards

The Nord Stream 2 project will comply with all permits and technical standards, the press service of Nord Stream 2 AG stated.

The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) on September 13 began considering an application for certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent transport operator.

The company declined to comment on this, noting that Nord Stream 2 does not comment on the ongoing procedures, promising further steps would be reported additionally, TASS reported.

The application for certification was filed back in June, but the term for consideration went only from September 8. Throughout the summer, the agency checked whether the applicant had submitted all the required documents.

The consideration of the application will take about four months, and after that, the decision will be submitted to the European Commission.

On September 10, it was announced that Nord Stream 2 “is fully ready to receive the first cubic meters of gas. Construction has been completed,” said Alexei Miller, chairman of the board of Gazprom.
