Peskov Makes No Remarks about ‘Russian Oligarchs’ Provocation

Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential spokesperson, has re-addressed the topic of “Russian oligarchs” suspected involvement in provocation during Belarus’ 2020 elections to the Belarussian Foreign Ministry.

According to Russian news agency TASS, Peskov said that it was hard for him to make any comments on the situation, adding that it was possibly better to address the question to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

In an interview with Kommersant daily, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that Russian secret services had alerted the Belarusian authorities about plans for provocations before the August 9 poll. He stated that there were rumors of former Russian oligarchs being involved at the time.
