If the European Union slaps economic penalties on Belarus over the grounding of a plane and the detention of a dissident blogger, Russia would take Belarus’s side and support and assist the country.
Following the forced landing of a Ryanair aircraft on May 23, many European countries have enforced flying restrictions on Belarusian aviation. More penalties are being considered by the EU, RIA news agency reports.
