More Than 8,900 COVID-19 Cases Reported in Russia

Russia’s coronavirus cases grew by 8,945 in the past day, a record high since June 12, bringing the total case tally in the country to 1,185,231, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Thursday, TASS reported.

According to the crisis center, a 0.8% daily growth rate was recorded.

Some new 2,424 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Moscow, 285 in St. Petersburg, 230 in the Moscow Region, 205 in the Rostov Region and 186 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The lowest growth rates in the past day were registered in the Chechen Republic (0.2%), the Nenets Autonomous Region (0.3%), the Chuvash Republic (0.3%), the Moscow, Smolensk and Tula Regions (0.3%), and the Republic of Tatarstan (0.4%).

Currently, 200,098 people are undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in Russia.
