On Thursday, Russia’s health minister, Mikhail Murashko, said that COVID-19 vaccinations had been given to 38.9 million individuals, or approximately 27% of the country’s population, Reuters reports.

He didn’t specify if the statistic applied to individuals who had gotten at least one dosage or those who had received all of the vaccines. The government announced last month that 33.6 million people had got at least one dosage and 22.6 million had received both shots.

At a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Murashko also stated that Russia has released 53 million vaccine shots that are the public will have access to, and that the coronavirus situation had stabilized.
