Sobyanin Called the Extremely Difficult Situation with Coronavirus in Moscow

The situation with the coronavirus in Moscow remains extremely difficult. The record for the number of hospitalizations and deaths was broken, the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin said on Monday.

According to the mayor, over the past week, new records have been broken for the number of hospitalizations, people in intensive care, as well as the number of deaths due to coronavirus, TASS reports.

Sobyanin said that therefore, decisions were made of a restrictive nature, which are associated with vaccination and access to cafes and restaurants only for those who have been ill, vaccinated and those who have a negative PCR test.

According to the mayor, as a result of these measures, the number of vaccination records increased to 86 thousand on weekdays, which “is a good indicator.” Sobyanin once again emphasized that we are dealing with a new and more infectious strain, very deadly. The mayor asked everyone to take care of themselves and get vaccinated at the first opportunity.

According to the federal operational headquarters for the fight against a new infection, the number of deaths due to coronavirus in Moscow increased by 124 per day, which was a new maximum since the beginning of the pandemic.
