Hungary and Russia have been negotiating the production of Sputnik V and other Russian coronavirus vaccines at an upcoming plant for vaccines in Hungary, Reuters reported citing Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

According to Szijjarto, who posted his statement on his Facebook page, both countries are looking at the possibility to produce vaccines in Hungary after they obtain the Russian license.

Out of the entire European Union, Hungary is the only country to immunize its citizens with the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm and the Russian Sputnik V, even though the bloc does not grant emergency use approval for either of the shots.
