Russia and Belarus will develop rules for the operation and regulation of the single gas market by July 2022, Prime Ministers of Russia and Belarus Mikhail Mishustin and Roman Golovchenko said in a joint statement, Russian media inform.
“The parties agreed to coordinate actions in terms of setting prices for Russian gas for Belarus for 2022, as well as developing rules for the operation and regulation of the unified gas market of the Union State (by July 2022),” the website of the Russian government notes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, after negotiations with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, announced that the document on the creation of a unified gas market between Russia and Belarus would be signed by December 1, 2023.
Prices for Russian gas for Belarus will remain in 2022 at the same level as in 2021 – $128.5 per 1,000 cubic meters, Putin stressed.
