OAG Aviation Worldwide ranked the most punctual airlines and airports in the world for 2018, Izvestya reported.
The report shows that Panamanian company Copa Airlines had the least delays and discrepancies with the schedule during 2018. The top 10 airlines also include Latvian airBaltic, Qatar Airways and the Dutch KLM. The only Russian carrier on the list was S7, ranked 18th in the world and sixth in Europe.
The leader in punctuality among the major airports (more than 30 million departing passengers per year) was Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport led the category “main airports” (20–30 million passengers), while the most punctual small airport (2.5–5 million passengers) is the one in Minsk.
The ranking list included airlines and airports for which analysts had more than 80% of data on the time of departure and arrival of flights. It was compiled on the basis of 58 million flight reports from 2018. Experts considered timely flights that were made within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure or arrival time.
