Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the videoconference format for the launching of Gazprom’s Amur gas processing plant.

This is Gazprom’s largest infrastructure project in the Far East. The plant will process multicomponent natural gas from Irkutsk and Yakutsk production centers.

The Amur Gas Processing Plant is 15 kilometers away from the city of Svobodny, Amur region. This enterprise is an important link in the supply chain through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline to China. The plant is fed with gas from the Chayandinskoe (Yakutia) and Kovyktinskoe (Irkutsk Oblast) fields.

The Power of Siberia pipeline will supply it with raw materials. The enterprise will be able to process more than 40 billion cubic meters of gas per year. And at the same time, it will become the largest helium producer in the world – up to 60 million cubic meters per year.

This project also included the creation of a road, rail, and river infrastructure. In addition, a residential neighborhood for 5 thousand people is being built.
